Caribbean Poker
- How To Play

  • Playing Caribbean poker
  • Playing web based Caribbean poker

  •  Playing Caribbean poker

To begin to play Caribbean poker, each player makes an
ante wager in the marked square. The dealer then gives each player five cards faced down. You can look at the cards you get but can't exchange information with the other gamblers at the table. (There is a discussion about the possibilities of making your odds higher on web based gambling by exchanging information but it is almost impossible and so the effort isn't really worth it). The dealer also takes five cards, four are face down and one is face up.

Now you have two options, either to raise or to fold. If you choose to fold you hand over your cards to the dealer and he will collect your ante bet. If you choose to raise, you put twice the amount of your ante bet in the raise box. After all the players have made their play, the dealer shows his cards. If he doesn't have at least a high card (ace/king) he doesn't qualify. In this case he will pay even money to all ante bets that didn't fold and all rise bet - push. If the dealer qualifies, each hand is independently compared to his. In each case the best Caribbean poker hand wins. If the dealer has the better hand the player loses both ante and raise. If your hand is better you are paid even money for the ante and the raise is paid as follows:

If Dealer Qualifies (A - K or better) - Player Wins:

    One Pair1 to 1
    Two Pairs2 to 1
    Three of a Kind3 to 1
    Straight4 to 1
    Flush5 to 1
    Full House7 to 1
    Four of a Kind20 to 1
    Straight Flush50 to 1
    Royal Flush100 to 1

Caution:  In most casinos there is a limit on the amount of money that is paid out for a Royal Flush. That limit may be less than the amount you deserve to win according to the payout chart. In some casinos this limit is as low as $10,000. This means that if you had $15 on the table when you hit the Royal Flush you should win $15,000 but the casino would only pay you the house limit of $10,000. This is one of the reasons for why choosing a web based gambling site is so important. Check the limit for payouts before you begin play and place your bets accordingly.

Players who made $1 Bonus bets win an amount specified in the bonus payout chart regardless of whether the dealer's hand qualifies.
